Our client is a leading research-driven organization operating in a regulated environment, where animal welfare, quality, and compliance are central to daily work. The team supports important scientific studies by ensuring high standards of care, accurate documentation, and reliable facility operations.
We are looking for an Research Technician to support day-to-day activities in an animal facility. This role combines hands-on animal care with operational support such as inventory checks, record accuracy, and supply handling. The Research Technician works according to internal procedures and study requirements and is expected to spot issues early and communicate clearly with the team.
- Provide direct animal care and support the animal colony in line with internal procedures and study requirements
- Support receipt, storage, and distribution of essential research supplies
- Carry out animal inventories and ensure identification records/cards are accurate and up to date
- Manage animal grooming activities and support routine technician-level physical observations
- Provide environmental enrichment to support animal wellbeing
- Check and validate that facility equipment is functioning correctly
- Identify issues or deviations and escalate when support is needed to resolve them
- Work effectively within a team-oriented environment with moderate supervision
- At least 1 year of experience working with animals (professional setting)
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask
- Comfortable working in a procedure-driven environment and following instructions carefully
- Valid driver's license
- AALAS certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is preferred
