Senior Data Protection Compliance Officer
Role purpose: Lead and strengthen the organization's data protection and privacy compliance program, ensuring lawful, secure, and ethical handling of personal data across business operations. Core responsibilities - Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies, standards, and controls aligned to applicable privacy laws and regulatory guidance. - Provide expert advice on privacy-by-design, data minimization, retention, and lawful processing for new and existing products, services, and projects. - Oversee and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) , risk assessments, and remediation plans. - Manage and coordinate responses to data subject requests, regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations within required timelines. - Partner with Legal, Security, IT, HR, and business teams to embed compliance into processes, vendor management, and data-sharing arrangements. - Monitor compliance metrics, conduct internal reviews, and report key risks and progress to senior stakeholders. - Support incident response activities, including breach assessment, notification decisioning, and post-incident improvements. Required skills and qualifications - Strong knowledge of data protection frameworks (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and relevant local privacy laws). - Experience building or operating privacy compliance programs, including DPIAs, records of processing, and policy governance. - Ability to tra...
