A good command of the Dutch language is important for working effectively and professionally in the Netherlands.
As a veterinarian or veterinary technician, you will have daily contact with Dutch pet owners. You need to be able to explain an animal's condition, ask questions, provide instructions, and communicate pleasantly with clients and colleagues.
Our advice: start learning Dutch as soon as you seriously consider working in the Netherlands. You do not need to master the language perfectly right away, but the motivation to learn it is essential.
The sooner you start, the easier it will be to find your way in a Dutch veterinary practice and in daily life.

To work as a veterinarian or veterinary technician in the Netherlands, your qualification must be recognized, and you must complete the required registration process via the CIBG (Diergeneeskunderegister Nederland).
