As our Senior Database Administrator, you'll keep our complex database fast, stable, and ready to scale, while helping developers understand the impact of their queries on performance. This is what you'll do
You're responsible for the performance, stability, and scalability of our database infrastructure, spread across multiple clusters. You'll review and optimise queries, oversee migrations, and make sure our infrastructure keeps up as we grow, all while raising the bar on how we manage data internally. You'll work closely with our Platform team, and with developers directly to make sure the database side is considered from the start. -
Own production database performance: review and optimize queries, indexing, and execution plans using MySQL and ProxySQL. -
Run migrations across our database clusters, including working with Atlas. -
Improve and evolve our database infrastructure, including scaling strategies like sharding and partitioning, as we restructure how our systems are set up. -
Write and maintain the standards that keep database work consistent across teams, from data modelling to how migrations get done. -
