Tax Manager Role purpose
Lead and manage tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities to ensure accurate filings, minimize risk, and support business decisions in alignment with applicable tax laws and company policies. Core responsibilities - Oversee preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and related schedules. - Manage tax provision and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy of calculations, documentation, and reconciliations. - Develop and execute tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions and support organizational goals. - Monitor legislative and regulatory changes; assess impact and implement compliant updates to processes. - Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external advisors to resolve tax issues and support audits. - Maintain strong internal controls, workpapers, and records to support compliance and audit readiness. - Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce errors. - Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to tax staff; manage timelines and deliverables. Required skills and qualifications - Strong knowledge of corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and relevant regulations. - Experience with tax provision, reconciliations, and audit support. - Proficiency with tax and accounting systems; advanced Excel and data analysis skills. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation abilities. - Proven project management skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. - Preferred : CPA, EA, or equivalent credential; prior leader...
