Model Risk Specialist
Role purpose: Support the governance, validation, and ongoing monitoring of quantitative and qualitative models to ensure they are fit for purpose, compliant with internal policies, and aligned with regulatory expectations. Core responsibilities - Perform independent model validation, including conceptual soundness reviews, outcome analysis, benchmarking, and sensitivity testing. - Assess model assumptions, limitations, data quality, and implementation integrity across the model lifecycle. - Develop and maintain model risk documentation (validation reports, model inventories, testing evidence, and remediation tracking). - Monitor model performance and stability; define and track key metrics, thresholds, and triggers for review. - Partner with model owners, data teams, and governance stakeholders to resolve findings and strengthen controls. - Support model risk governance processes, including policy adherence, change management, and periodic reviews. Required skills and qualifications - Experience in model risk management, model validation, or quantitative risk within financial services or regulated environments. - Knowledge of common model types (e.g., credit risk, market risk, fraud, AML, forecasting) and validation techniques. - Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, or equivalent. - Ability to interpret regulatory guidance and translate it into practical testing and documentation standards. - Excellent written communication for clear, audit-ready reporting and stakehold...
