At Metalo, we don't work on assembly lines. Here, it's all about single pieces, repairs, specials, and work you don't encounter everywhere. Large components, unusual shapes, difficult tolerances. Exactly the kind of projects a machinist enjoys getting out of bed for.
A little bit about Metalo
We're a machine shop with a truly impressive fleet. From the DMG DMF 300/8 to the Kiheung Combi T with a Huron head, plus a set of conventional benches where you can truly express your expertise. No layers of management, no fuss. You'll work directly with knowledgeable colleagues who are eager to hear your suggestions for improvements.
Your work
As a milling/cutting machine operator at Metalo, you have considerable freedom. You'll receive drawings that sometimes pose a challenge, and then it's up to you: devise a fixture, select the correct sequence, select the tools, and go!.
You work alternately on:
CNC milling machines such as the Bridgeport VMC, Kiheung Combi T (Heidenhain 640) and the 5-axle DMG DMF 300/8
CNC milling machine n of Juaristi and TOS
Conventional milling machines when that is simply more convenient
It is not continuous series work. Sometimes it is a new part, sometimes a repair where you first have to assess what is still "good." Occasionally, a three-meter workpiece on the table. Sometimes something small that has to be accurate to the hundredth.
What we are looking for
Not a paper parade, but someone who masters his craft.
You work alternately on:
You can clamp, machine and measure independently
You know how a Heidenhain clerk thinks, or you pick it up quickly
You can work with both conventional and CNC machining
You like to think along: can something be made smarter, faster, safer? We'd even like to
Experience is nice, but you don't need 30 years of service - if you're handy, you'll learn quickly
It is not continuous series work....
