About this position
Climate change, air quality, and the energy transition play a huge role in defining, implementing, and monitoring policy. To properly design and implement policies, it is crucial to understand emissions and concentrations of gases and substances, at both regional and national level and ideally in real-time. At the Environmental Modelling, Sensing & Analysis (EMSA) department, we use measurement equipment and sensor networks to monitor the concentrations of various gases and particles in the air. As a Data Scientist, you support the researchers within EMSA by managing, processing, and analyzing measurement data. You ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and available for both internal and external use. What will be your role?
Researchers at EMSA measure and monitor concentrations of different gases and particles in the air in various locations and regions across the Netherlands. We do this using fixed and mobile measurement systems and state-of-the-art equipment. Examples include nitrogen compounds, greenhouse gases, and particulate matter characterisation.
