Fortunately, certifications and inspection checks have been created to prevent people from being exploited. (That certainly doesn't change the fact that it still happens!)) Everyone who works in the Netherlands is protected by the law.
A brief summary of your rights:
Safe place: - An employer must ensure a safe working environment, a temporary employment agency must ensure that safety regulations are known and any safety equipment is distributed.
Working time: - According to the Working Hours Act, you are not allowed to work consecutively for more than 60 hours per week.
Minimum wage: - It is prohibited by law to pay below the minimum wage, yet it still occurs regularly. As an international employee you have the right to be paid equally.
Collective labor agreement protection: - Most sectors are protected by a collective labor agreement, which sets out certain matters that are important for employer and employee. If this is not complied with, a complaint can be filed.
